Detoxing from the classroom
Short reflective activity for Secondary School and Tertiary education students
Learning to achieve - and fail…
Sometimes understanding new ideas or skills takes time. In fact - it always takes time. It’s often the one thing that being in the classroom doesn’t give. You are rushed to speak up, answer a question, provide a solution, write down an opinion or fill in a form.
You are always asked to self-reflect.
But are you really self-reflecting?
Activity:
In this short activity, give yourself some time to properly consider the answers. Go away, re-read and come back. Answer them again, and see how they differ. S-l-o-w things down.
When did you last really fail at something?
Do you prefer quality over quantity?
Do you strive for perfection?
When did you last let someone down?
When you answered were you aiming for the ‘right’ answer?
Let’s see if you got any correct.
